Grand Union Canal Section 'A' offers day and guest tickets, making it easy to plan your visit. The canal boasts excellent pedestrian access along its entire length, ensuring anglers can explore comfortably. Disabled anglers will appreciate the specially constructed pegs and designated parking at Wilstone, accessible with a RADAR key. Most sections are accommodating for anglers with disabilities, allowing everyone to enjoy the fishing experience.

Fish Species

Anglers at this section can target a variety of fish, including carp weighing up to 20 lb and tench reaching 7 lb. You'll also find chub up to 4 lb, along with roach, perch, bream, rudd, and gudgeon. In recent years, large common bream have been spotted at Buckland, while roach and tench thrive near the bridges along the towpath.

Fishing Highlights

The boat channel is known for holding some of the larger fish, though the inside line is always worth a try. Specific spots like Puttenham to Wilstone have seen carp grow into the twenties, and even cold weather doesn't deter the fish here. The small pond halfway between the bridges offers rudd, tench, and carp, providing a peaceful spot for a good catch. Despite some featureless stretches, the rewards are substantial for those willing to explore the countryside.
