Theale Complex

Key Information
Getting Started
Theale Complex welcomes anglers with club memberships, granting access to its diverse fishing waters. Memberships are available through the Reading Fishing Club, a longstanding member of both the Angling Trust and Kennet Valley Fishery Association.
Where to Fish
Members can enjoy fishing at Tapperns Lake, a serene platformed lake with disabled facilities and parking available for a £5.00 deposit. Osier Lake, adjacent to Tapperns, offers a larger and more challenging environment, particularly weedy in summer. The Child Beale Complex provides additional waters, while sections of the River Thames present picturesque settings reminiscent of Wind in the Willows. A constructed canal stretch with numerous platforms also caters to anglers, especially when the River Thames is in flood.
What You Can Catch
Theale Complex is home to a variety of fish species. Anglers can target Carp up to 33lb, Pike reaching 30lb, Bream up to 12lb, and Tench weighing up to 8lb 12oz. Other species include Perch, Chub, and Roach, offering a fulfilling fishing experience across the different waters available.
