The Lake

Willington Lake spans over 12 acres in Bedfordshire, serving as SDAA’s largest stillwater since 1985. This classic gravel pit boasts clear waters and abundant weed growth, creating a thriving environment for carp. With depths reaching up to 14 feet in certain areas, anglers can explore various zones to locate their catch.

Fishing at Willington Lake

The lake is home to around 150 carp, with several boasting weights over 30lb. The natural food supply supports these fish in reaching impressive sizes. To increase your chances, staying mobile is key, as carp often move with the wind and frequent shallow margins during warmer months. A stealthy approach can make a difference in landing a specimen.

Nature and Membership

As part of a County Wildlife Site, Willington Lake attracts a diverse range of birds and mammals, allowing visitors to enjoy fishing alongside local wildlife in peace and quiet. Club memberships are available for those interested in enhancing their fishing experience and supporting the conservation efforts at the lake.
