Despite the proximity to factory units, the lake provides a countryside ambiance with varying depths from two to twelve feet and minimal weed growth.
Fish
At Rackley Hills, anglers can target a range of species. The lake is particularly famous for its catfish, some reaching up to 55lb, alongside numerous specimens in the 20, 30, and 40lb range. Carp enthusiasts will find sizeable catches, with some carp approaching thirty pounds. Recent introductions of fast-growing Simmonds mirror carp have shown impressive growth rates, with some reaching 17lb within a year. Membership
Leighton Buzzard Angling Club manages Rackley Hills and offers club memberships. Members must adhere to regulations requiring departure from the water in the evening, as outlined in the membership booklet. The club permits the use of up to three rods per angler. Additionally, those interested in night fishing should apply for a place on a night syndicate to secure their fishing experience after dark.
Parking
Anglers can park along one side of Rackley Hills lake, enjoying convenient access to their fishing spot. It is important to avoid parking near the Grundfos Pumps gates to prevent blocking entry points.
