McGregor Lake

Fish Stock

McGregor Lake has been stocked with thousands of mirror and common carp from AJS Fisheries and Sporting and Leisure Fisheries. While the largest carp introduced weighed no more than 5lb, anglers have already caught specimens exceeding 20lb.

Species Present

In addition to carp, McGregor Lake is home to bream, tench, pike, perch, eels, roach, rudd, golden rudd, orfe, and hybrids. This variety offers anglers a range of targets to pursue throughout the year.

Fishing Environment

The lake benefits from flooding from the nearby River Ivel, which has helped establish a healthy fish population. The Association continues to develop the water as a well-stocked fishery, ensuring enjoyable sport for anglers at any time of the year.
