Dovecote Lake

Dovecote Lake provides a varied fishing environment for anglers in Bedfordshire. Spanning 60 acres with depths from 2 to 20 feet, the lake features over 100 swims and two main bays that are perfect for surface fishing on warm days. The lakebed is a mix of gravel, oxygen weed, and silt, offering different conditions across its waters. A large island with overhanging trees, bushes, and reeds adds to the natural charm of the area.

Fish

Carp fishing is a standout activity at Dovecote Lake. In the 1998/99 season, 700 carp reaching upper doubles were introduced, complementing the existing population that ranges from low doubles to upper 30s. Anglers have the opportunity to catch carp weighing up to 37 lb 8 oz, providing the chance to land some impressive specimens.

Visitors will find a car park conveniently located behind bushes and trees around the lake, ensuring easy access while maintaining the lake's private atmosphere. Syndicate opportunities are available, allowing members to enjoy exclusive fishing privileges. Each Syndicate member is provided with a security key, enhancing the secure and secluded nature of Dovecote Lake.
