History

Ampthill Reservoir, also known as 'The Ressy,' spans approximately 1 acre and was constructed by monks from Ampthill Castle. Nestled within the idyllic Ampthill Park, the reservoir benefits from spring-fed water sourced from the hill.

Physical Features

The reservoir features around 21 pegs, with abundant marginal reeds and water lilies. Water depths range from approximately 2ft to 6ft, providing diverse fishing environments.

Fishing Regulations

A night fishing ban is in effect. Anglers are prohibited from using bivvies or brolly tents, keep nets must not be used, and only landing nets are allowed. Barbless and micro-barbed hooks must be utilised.
