Wildings Lakes
Overview
Wildings Lakes in East Sussex offers anglers a tranquil setting with two stillwater lakes. Managed by the Hassocks & District Angling Society Ltd, the larger lake serves as the primary venue for those seeking sizeable carp, tench, and bream. The elongated shape of the main lake, varying between 20 and 35 metres in width and reaching depths of up to 10 feet, provides ample space for various fishing tactics.
Variety of Fish
Both lakes boast a diverse range of species including carp, chub, eel (up to 5 lb), perch, roach, rudd, tench (up to 4 lb), and gudgeon. Anglers can effectively use ledgered boilies and pellets to target carp and tench, while worms, maggot, and caster are excellent for eels, especially during the night. Dark groundbaits, particularly those made from fishmeal, are popular among the local fish.
Available Amenities
Convenient car parking is available right next to the lakes in dry conditions, ensuring easy access for visitors. Night fishing is permitted strictly by prior appointment, with the number of anglers controlled to maintain a peaceful environment. Additionally, club memberships are offered, providing anglers with opportunities to make the most of Wildings Lakes. Please note that stays are limited to a maximum of 36 hours to ensure a pleasant experience for all.
